My professional journey has taken me from building the business and iconic brands at Unilever across continents to steering a renowned Indian organisation - Bajaj Electricals towards greater heights. I have a wealth of experience scaling and leading strategically critical consumer goods markets in South Asia, North Asia, the Middle East, Russia, and Latin America. My key achievements include enabling consistent profitable growth in intensely competitive markets, sustainably turning around businesses across geographies, and strengthening business foundations in extreme VUCA conditions while stepping up talent and organizational capability. One of my driving leadership tenants is to nurture a performance-driven culture that values continuous learning and that promotes empowerment with clear accountability. I believe empathy and trust are imperative for authentically connecting with people and unlocking their inherent potential. Additionally, I’m a staunch advocate of data and technology since these will be the key differentiators driving long-term value for all stakeholders in this new digital age. After working in 5 countries across 3 continents, I’ve been privileged to experience first-hand the power of diverse cultures and perspectives. My wife has travelled with me, working as a teacher and helping to shape the minds of future generations. Our two children have been with us on our global adventure, and are now pursuing their careers in North America. Traveling to 70+ countries has made me a seasoned foodie, and inspired me to cook my own recipes from time to time. Currently exploring (on bicycle and foot) all that terrific Tokyo has to offer!
