My mother, a headmistress, shaped how I think about effort, learning, and self-respect. I was not the most polished person in the room.I was not fluent in English.I did not always have the confidence that leadership roles seem to demand. What I did have was curiosity.And the willingness to learn. Over time, through experience, mistakes, and generous mentors, I learned something that stayed with me. Leadership is not about authority.It is about earning trust consistently. That belief guided me across Hyatt, Taj, Marriott, KFC, and Yum Brands, where I experienced both luxury hospitality and large-scale consumer businesses and learned how strong cultures and world-class systems are built. At Yum, I led operations across nearly 50 stores, managing a business of around ₹250 crore, with close to 2,000 team members. That experience taught me something simple.Great strategy means little without strong execution. Today, as CEO of Pizza Hut India at Sapphire Foods, I see leadership as a constant balancing act. Between brand and business.Between people and performance.Between speed and discipline. Because everything is connected. When culture weakens, customer experience follows.When operations slip, the brand feels it.And when alignment is missing, even the best talent struggles. I have seen this repeatedly. People do not fail because they lack talent.They struggle because they lack alignment.But when alignment clicks, something powerful happens. Performance improves.Trust builds.Leadership compounds. That is the work I care about. Building businesses that perform.Building leaders who grow others.Building cultures that last. If you believe strong businesses are built with both intent and discipline, we will have something meaningful to talk about.
