Hello, we’re Starling. Banking wasn’t working as it should—so we set out to change that. Our aim? Cutting-edge tech, equitable service, and integrity. All accessible through your phone, round the clock. We launched the UK’s first digital bank. After securing a challenging banking license, we focused on giving people a fresh approach to spending, saving, and handling their finances (with a nod to environmental responsibility, too). We’re transforming banking for the long haul. Back then, our focus was on simplifying the complexities of finance and addressing people's needs, rather than pushing products. That focus remains unchanged. Since those early days, we’ve expanded significantly. We now serve over four million accounts (and offer four distinct account types!). Our team numbers in the thousands. Our base is in London, with additional offices in Cardiff, Dublin, Manchester, and Southampton. We’ve been named a Which? Recommended Provider for five consecutive years and Britain's Best Banking Brand. Yet we still have no physical branches. Our work environment is open, inclusive, and dedicated to tackling real customer issues, prioritizing ethical choices, even when they’re not the simplest. From our collaborative methods and sustainability efforts to product development, every decision we make aims to improve both the world and Starling. Each member of our team plays a vital role in our mission, which is straightforward: to address our customers' challenges and create the finest bank globally! And now, we’re extending Starling to other financial institutions through a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model via our subsidiary Engine, leveraging the same proprietary tech platform that powers our own bank.
