Brian Savoy serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Duke Energy. He oversees the company’s financial function, including the controller’s office, treasury, tax, risk management and insurance. These duties include accounting, cash management and overseeing risk control policies. He also has responsibility for corporate development and enterprise strategy, with a focus on transforming the company’s generation and transmission assets to achieve its net-zero carbon emissions goals.
Before assuming his current position in September 2022, Savoy served as Duke Energy’s executive vice president and chief strategy and commercial officer. In this role, he was responsible for enterprise strategy, commercial renewables, the natural gas business unit, business ventures, and sales for large customer accounts.
Previously, Savoy served as the company’s chief transformation and administrative officer, where he led the company’s business transformation through digital innovation, new ways of working and process redesign. Following Duke Energy’s merger with Cinergy in 2006, he was appointed vice president and controller of the commercial power segments.
